Notice on The Adjustments of Health Code Application And Latest Requirements of China-Bound Travelers

Starting from January 8th, 2023, COVID-19 will be managed as a Class B infectious disease in China, and border control measures will be adjusted accordingly. China-bound travelers are advised to read the following information on the adjustment to facilitate traveling:

1. Health Code

Travelers are no longer required to apply for a health code to the Chinese Embassy before departure.

2. Nucleic Acid Test & Health Declaration to China Customs

a) Travelers are required to take nucleic acid test within 48 hours before flight departure, and can only take flight when the test result is negative.

b) Travelers need to declare the negative test result to China Customs by filling the Health Declaration Form either on Wechat mini-program of China Customs (scan the QR code below),or at https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn/htdeclweb/home/pages/healthDeclare/declare.html, or via the China Customs APP.

3.Entry Inspection

Nucleic acid testing will no longer be implemented for all personnel entering China, and those whose health declarations routine quarantine at customs ports are normal can be released to enter the public side.

People with abnormal health declarations or symptoms such as fever will be tested for antigens by the customs. If the result is positive and you do not have any symptoms or the symptoms are mild without serious underlying diseases, you can take home isolation or self-care. In other cases, it is recommended to go to a medical institution for diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible. If the result is negative, the customs will implement routine quarantine in accordance with the "Frontier Health and Quarantine Law" and other laws and regulations.

The above measures will be effective for all passengers arriving in China after 0:00 am (included) on January 8, 2023(Beijing time).

Given the ongoing pandemic, Travelers are advised to take primary responsibility for their health, and use precautionary measures for self-protection. The Chinese government will continue to monitor the latest trends of the pandemic, and adjust the disease control practices accordingly to facilitate entry and exit of personnel.
