Chinese Embassy in Afghanistan Holds the 66th National Day and Ambassador Deng Xijun and His Wife Madame Fan Peilin's Farewell Reception

On September 22nd, 2015, embraced by the cool breeze and picturesque autumn scenery, the Chinese Embassy in Afghanistan grandly held the 66th National Day and Ambassador Deng Xijun and His Wife Madame Fan Peilin's Farewell Reception. H.E. Dr. Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of Afghanistan, H.E. Mr. Mohammad Sarwar Danish, Second Vice President of Afghanistan, H.E. Hamid Karzai, former President of Afghanistan, and H.E. Mr. Abudul Salam Rahimi, Chief of Staff to the President of Afghanistan, sent flower baskets to express congratulations to the National Day. Over 260 guests attended the reception, including H.E. The reception started with the solemn and passionate Chinese and Afghan national anthems. Ambassador Deng firstly made a warm speech. He praised the great achievements China has made in various fields since the founding of the People's Republic of China 66 years ago, especially since the reform and opening up 37 years ago, spoke highly of the continuous development of China-Afghanistan Strategic and Cooperative Partnership, briefly introduced the current economic situation and the "Four Comprehensives" strategy of China, fondly recalled his two-tenure working experience in Afghanistan, and extended his gratitude to the Afghan government and people from all walks of life for their valuable support and assistance during his tenure as Ambassador. Finally, Ambassador Deng sincerely wished the early realization of peace and stability of Afghanistan, and the long-lasting friendship between the peoples of China and Afghanistan.

Foreign Minister Rabbani, on behalf of the Afghan government, delivered a speech, warmly congratulating on the 66th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China. He said that China and Afghanistan enjoy a long history of friendly exchanges. Recent years have witnessed the good momentum of the development of China-Afghanistan Strategic and Cooperative Partnership, close exchanges of high-level and other levels between the two sides, and fruitful results of pragmatic cooperation in various fields. Afghan government has always regarded developing relations with China as a priority of Afghan foreign policy, cherished the traditional friendship with China, and committed to work with China to promote the comprehensive and in-depth development of the friendly cooperative relations between the two countries. He also wished Ambassador Deng to achieve greater success in his new position.

The guests warmly congratulated the 66th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, appreciated China's remarkable achievements, expressed regret and sadness for the departure of Ambassador Deng and his wife, took photos to mark the occasion, said goodbye to each other and wished a brighter future for China-Afghanistan relations. The reception concluded in an joyful and pleasant atmosphere.
