Ambassador Deng Xijun Pays a Farewell Call on the Acting Minister of Defense of Afghanistan

On September 29th, 2015, H.E. Mr. Deng Xijun, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Afghanistan, paid a farewell call on H.E. Mr. Stanekzai, Acting Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

Ambassador Deng expressed his gratitude for the support and assistance rendered by Stanekzai and the Ministry of Defense during his tenure as Ambassador and said that the current China-Afghanistan Strategic and Cooperative Partnership was enjoying continuous development and fruitful cooperation in various fields. The realization of peace and stability in Afghanistan met the common expectations among regional countries and the international community. China consistently supported Afghan reconstruction and reconciliation process and would continuously work with the international community, to play a more constructive role for the realization of the smooth transition of Afghanistan and early settlement of the Afghan issue.

Stanekzai spoke highly of Ambassador Deng’s active contribution to developing Afghanistan-China relations, expressed regret and sadness for his departure and wished Ambassador Deng all the success in his new post. He said that regarding China as a reliable friend, Afghanistan wished China could play a larger role in the Afghan reconstruction process, so as to help Afghanistan realize peace, stability and development at an early date.
